Equipment shaming
I've been having fun playing naked recently. Its been a blast, and the only issue that has come up is, equipment shaming.
I was grouped last night, and after someone complained about my dps, they joked about it, then about ten minutes later another guide mate showed up, they booted me and invited him. When I asked about it, they were all so angry I was wasting everyone else's time by not having better gear at level 12. (I was in tarnished and some patchwork with a few pieces of ring mail) I figured, no biggie, logged for a night, and over the next few days, these same people made sure to shout to the zone that I had shit gear and not to waste their time. So now I have a scarlet letter shadowknight with people actively shaming me for being poor. Feels bad man

Shaming someone in a game for not having better imaginary pixel armor is the most pathetic type of bullying, holy shit. I can only imagine what their real lives are like that they're reduced to this type of behavior to make themselves feel better, and superior to anything. Yikes.

If someone doesn't meet the group standards just be courteous enough to not invite them to begin with.
I played a ranger in 99.. people didn't want you then even if you were geared. Every camp had a "list" and I would always get passed because I was a hybrid.

I don't want to shame anyone, and the guild is a popular leveling guild, so they have loose standards and high turnover. Just wanted to get my experience out there.
98% of the time I've spent on P99 has been absolutely positive, maybe that's why this seemed so out of place. It may have been because the XP was rolling in, I had 100% control of all hate and just having a blast when suddenly I get dropped mid fight and see his buddy running over. They also stopped healing me and I almost died since they backed off on the mob too. So some sort of planned, anti-troll conspiracy. 98% of people on this server I would gladly lose XP for
