Undead Illusions no longer change faction
Source: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/...1&p=5#comments
"Feb 14 2001 at 4:42 PMRating: Default Wrong. Like a previous post says. COB takes you to amiable." "Mar 09 2001 at 8:28 PMRating: Default I guess they nerfed this then because I am standing in front of the Foreman as I type this and neither Lich nor Call of Bones alters my faction whatsoever. I am indifferent to them with or without either spell." "Mar 14 2001 at 6:12 PMRating: Decent Correct .. All Skeleton illusions no longer alter your faction. Source: http://web.archive.org/web/200103021...ML/061066.html "Topic: Thing's Not Included Into the Patch Message that DID go in..." "DarckHellfire Station Member posted 02-23-2001 07:30 AM The Faction adjustments from Arch Lich have been removed. Now there is no reason to EVER use this spell" "-Lech- Station Member posted 02-23-2001 07:41 AM Level 60 necro Arch Lich NERFED to utter uselessness. There is now absolutely no point in casting the spell because it no longer gives the nice faction bonus. " The patch in question is the February 21, 2001 patch. While it was not listed in the patch notes directly luckily, I found a patch rundown of things that were not included in the notes. Under bug fixes in this patch, we can see they were working on faction issues. "--- Fixed a bug whereby NPCs would consider the race of a player prior to the loading of the faction table upon zoning or logging in. This would cause people to be attacked by things that normally like them. " Based on all this, a change should go in for February 21, 2001 in the timeline which removes faction changes on Amulet of Necropotence, Call of Bones, Lich and Arch Lich.

This sounds like it would affect wolf form in FV, amongst other places...

Wolf Form faction was not working after this date until December 5th, 2001.
http://web.archive.org/web/200210260...ML/000410.html This is after the scope of the project's timeline, but as it was unintended and fixed just after I think it's probably safe to leave it.

February 21st 2001; Patch goes in removing faction changes for undead illusions.
February 23rd 2001; Post on the official forums discussing the nerf. Mar 9th 2001; Posts on Alakazam commenting on the removal of the faction from undead illusions. Mar 14th 2001; Additional posts on Alakazam confirming the removal of faction from undead illusions. Based on all this, a change should go in for February 21, 2001 in the timeline which removes faction changes on Amulet of Necropotence, Call of Bones, Lich and Arch Lich. This portion is ready for implementation. The question about wolf form; It appears the faction was bugged until December 5th, 2001, but that it was unintended. A judgment call by devs on whether to implement. ABSOR Station Admin posted 12-05-2001 01:08 PM "Last night we took down each server for a short time to patch a fix for bards that couldn't sing songs. We also fixed a faction problem with wolf form."

Unintended bugs are classic! Good - I chuckle a bit when I see dead wolves on the bridge / docks (and then check their rez timers).
Though I do wonder what "traveling the Faydark" means... -Mcoy
