I guess technically yes, but not sure what scenario would occur where a legal trade with an RMTer would trigger a problem for you.

If you're trading plat for an item or vice versa it's going to be clear that it's a legal trade so you should be fine. The ones that raise the red flags are like if you're trading large amounts of plat for free or if you're getting a valuable item for free...if the person you do the exchange with later gets found out as an RMTer, then those transactions look suspicious.

At least that's my understanding. Obviously can't speak for how the staff look at everything.
have to be careful when taking money period, you can get flagged thinking its legit money for a service if you provide it. IE: powerleveling, item farming, etc. Just log every transaction with what the service provided was and you are good.

Doesn’t matter if you’ve had a name for 8 years. People have had names changed after having them for that long before

What was the char name? If it was borderline bad they will ban your account to make you change it
i had a toon on blue that was lvl 20 and had his full name about 12 days after server launched and i was made to change my name in 2020....names of toons and guilds are subject to gm and guide discrection so if they promote someone to guide and that new guide feels your name violates rules they can rule for name change and thats final, there is no appeal...my toons name was Dalinkwent Deadagain...technicaly not against the rules cus the first name was Dalinkwent not thelinkwent but the guide went with the rule that my last name was deadagain( not allowed to have a surname that is 2 words or a compound word)...basicly you just gotta take it on the chin and move on, sucks but i spent 6 months pissed and it did me no good, honestly i think it put a target on my toons ... can only piss the cops off so much before they start running your name just because.
my advice, just fly as far under the radar as possible

TO be honest the name does violate some of the rules...

Common words and phrases that would not be found in the time, place and setting of EverQuest
Names where the combination of the first and last name forms a phrase or violate a previous rule (e.g. Crymea River, Bran Muffin, Story Thyme)
For all of the above, misspellings and alternative spellings (such as spelling it backwards) of the word or words are also unacceptable.

But i agree, best thing to do is not have an offensice name and dont be a dick to other people in game. Easiest way for someone to get back at you if they think you dicked them, is to report them for a name violation.

Yeah it can be frustrating especially if you’ve had a name for awhile. I know people who had names specifically approved by a staff member years ago and then a new staff member makes them change it. Would be cool if there was some type of database showing the person had their name approved and that new staff down the road would honor that approval.

But oh well ultimately not the end of the world

If you get a 1 day or whatever suspension it'll still flag as "banned" even though you can get back on after whatever time.

This happened to me back in 2011, got a suspension over a name issue but left my character in EC (someone must have snitched) and the account was logged out when I came back from a long AFK so I had no knowledge of what happened or why. If $melinda did send me any tells I didnt know about it.

I am now terrified and don't ever want to log into my cleric, he has the best name and i've been given passes by older GMs from the Derubael era. Nobody knows me anymore :|

So why was Encroaching Death banned? Someone should take his avatar, it gave nice color to the forum:
