Your character is still permanently dead, however, your pals can go gather your coins and itamz and giev them to your new toon. Non-hardcore is when your character dies, you just show up in town, nude, and have to do a corpse run. Hardcore is more challenging, and keeps things fresh. Ladder Hardcore is fun because every time it's reset, everyone's back to newbie chars, with people constantly getting the highest level but then dying. Join us! sad that the game is filled with unpoliced hacks, makes ladder meaningless on hardcore since everyone at the top auto leaves game if they are about to die
