didnt that get nerfed? i haven't been able to front stab on my rogue in years. maybe i dont remember it working on p99

on live you could step into the mob and backstab before it flipped

confirmed on p99 recently?
I think they may just be talking about the extra attack you get by using backstab from the front, but you can get backstabs solo by stepping behind the enemy and backstabbing before they turn around, timing is very tight and there's a method to doing that, but you can get pretty decent at it, I was able to nail it three out of four backstabs usually. Pretty sure it's still in the game, at least it was when I was still playing last year.

The biggest challenge or chore is Rogue. It’s perhaps good if you wish to research and exlore least painful ways of leveling with a gimped character.

I can’t see how it’d be any fun however. It’s not a class that’s a fun solo experience even when twinked.

I’d recommend paladin (cool quests and progression with items like deepwater harpoon, ghoulbane etc). Shadowknight also good. Ranger also has quite a few quests and fun stuff to try with track and whatnot.

As for hardest it’s rogue without a doubt. Warriors and knights are pretty easy. The main reason people think they’re hard is because they don’t solo like a necro or something. Warrior even in banded armor has huge defense and good damage. Crits and crippling blows add a lot of damage. Taking on low blues and bandaging to 50% is quite efficient. You start fights at 50-60% ho and just destroy them. It gets harder post 50 but you’re near the end then.

Knights are similar. They lose some damage but trade it for spells which are infinitely more useful.

i got a rogue to 54 mostly solo before i got banned and deleted most of my accounts.. she's out there in everquest heaven with a pair of bloodpoints i spent like a month farming the plat for and begging for from ppl

butt in all earnestness if u want an ironman challenge that is pretty cool but not super horrid and potentially will net u a cool character...

do this:

Dump all points into wisdom on a paladin

Go undead nuke hunting from lvl 15 to lvl 60

i think its toats doable

would be an interesting challenge for sure !

remember to get an insta clicky, use a sheild bash, and top slot ward undead

g-d bless

Hardest is rogue but feels bad on so many levels.

Warrior would be the best "actual" pick.

Nothing is hard when you can 6min bard diet any class and then brownie guards for rest. Will be slow but any class can do that and rest between

Rogue's biggest issue is their HP, they have like half as much as warrior. They defensively and offensively are very similar to a warrior otherwise. Frontstabbing is probably roughly equivalent to crits/crips if you are good at it.

You would be reliant on using the slow poison on basically every dark blue mob you engage after a certain point.

I'm sure it's technically doable. Downtime would be extreme and after a certain point I'd probably just start doing quest hand ins for exp. Sarnak Braids and Drolvarg Teeth can probably take you to 60 if you farmed enough of them. Or use that Karanas gnoll quest like the one guy did.

I’d love to see someone do this on a Rogue past say level 30 or so. I personally can’t even imagine how that would be fun to play, or maybe even possible, but like the guy on twitch with the warrior, I’d have fun tuning in to watch.

Rogue and warrior are the toughest, but then you're also left with a really shitty character that can't do much besides painstakingly kill low blues in areas where these can be single-pulled. It's the hardest SSF challenge, but one that feels kinda hollow because there's no meaningful end product, you just do it purely for the achievement. It's not as if an SSF rogue will one day become capable of doing something really impressive. The character will be total trash forever.

So in terms of having some future potential, the knights have the best balance between that and challenge. Shadowknights can fear kite their way through life, but can't do a whole lot in a dungeon, so that feels more like a one-trick pony. Paladin, however, can do a lot of shit and has a number of worthwhile things to pursue as you can solo stuff like Ghoulbane, most (all?) of the Ro set, and potentially even make a Hail Mary attempt at camping an FBSS once you're in the upper 50s.

There's a dude doing a gnome warrior on twitch this way. Not caught much of it but his progress is great. Wonder how he'll go with 54.

All a warrior needs is jboots and you can solo to 60. Beat mobs up til your berserker. Then just bow kite while you med back up. Warriors do some damage in berserker with a bow.
