Coast guard with missiles. R.I.P. Taiwan.

Also, in the long run they'll just vassal state small maritime nations and close off India.

Or just do Africa.

It's more about selling the most rapidly deployed protectionism and manpower. Soon.

'Murica is headed into a deep global decline, protracted recession, and austerity, no matter who gets elected.

We'll produce a handful of ships at 10x the cost while we focus on mounting civil unrest at home and our economy tanks. As investors pull out. As our health and wealth decline with an aging and ailing population and a plummeting birth rate. Survival rate. Our people are getting terminally ill in their 40s and taking the country down with them as they flounder around and cost us money cleaning them and their disastrous choices up.

God love em, but the disabled,, homeless, drug addicts are extremely damaging to profits, growth, and social stability. And property. America is so fucked.

These people can't dig out of the grave they've dug, or permitted to get dug for them.

AoC ain't Theodore Roosevelt.

This is rather ironic coming from someone who is so obviously mentally ill.

I think the dire prognostications for America are wrong. I mean idk, things have changed a lot, predicting the next century is really not to be done lightly and this will be a low effort post. But I am expecting a sort of stasis.

See, it doesn't really matter if most ppl are retarded and useless. Our economic engine doesn't need hardly any Americans to work. We all work at coffee stands feeding each other coffee on our coffee breaks from the coffee stand. The empire we sit on is what makes us collectively rich, not our exceptional productiveness. This is why forcing Americans to starve and enjoy no healthcare if they don't go out grind some useless job is merely punitive and very dumb, magnetaress. Not to mention highly destabilizing. You see all the symptoms but you just refuse to see what even the neocons have begun to see: "work to eat" is mere ideology and its logic breaks down at a certain post-agricultural, post-industrial, automation-heavy point. There just aren't enough positions of merit to fill. Just look at the dough they've cranked out for covid, and how it turned the stock market into an all-win casino. We are better off paying ppl who don't make $70k or more to stay home and stop crowding our streets doing their poor person shit. And we most certainly *are* being primed for a UBI.

No, we'll get our unrest under control using gibs. Continue to be the main cephalus of Europa. And keep doing empire shit. We do this to keep our elites propped up, in opposition to their (eastern) elites, because submitting to Eastern rule would end the vast stratified wealth in the Western hemisphere. We'll get dramatically, vastly wealthier in the next 30 years on robot labor (which might actually enable manufacturing to return to USA), we are talking the ability to do 500x the labor we presently can, then 500000x 30 years later. The pyramid scheme is about to get a series of HUGE bricks laid under it in the coming years. The only thing that would cause it to fall over is to let the plebs starve and get super angry, but political developments prove our rulers are not that ideologically blinded that they would allow that to happen. Only u are. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] But with UBI on the table, questions about social cohesiveness get taken care of. In fact, our politicians might be smart enough that UBI may come in time to preempt truly harsh times for the unemployed truckers, gas station workers, the 90% of grocery store workers laid off, all fast food employees, all coffee house employees, most (75%+, includes Lulzsect) low-skill IT workers. No big collapse coming, nothing interesting coming at all rly until Southeast Asia goes underwater and we have a 1 billion-person refugee crisis.

I know the robots seem like theyll never come because we have talked about them for so long, but they are seriously almost here. like, vast labor surpluses are coming imminently. Doomsday is just adolescent fantasy for avoiding the grind of a stable, sterile, un-martial reality. Except maybe for climate change, but even that is just another opportunity to juice the economy on a "war footing" and make lots of machines.

Alpha Centauri predicted this like 22 years ago.

Cybernetic Society
"In the far future, citizens may turn many of the tasks of governing society over to artificially intelligent computers, increasing efficiency and freeing individuals for more creative tasks. But will workers displaced by computers sink into despair, poverty, and possible unrest?"

The displacement will be massive. But I'm optimistic because of the Internet. The average person has much more of a voice than say during Great Depression starvation times.

I think people born post 90-2k will have it figured out.

People born prior to the 90s are gonna die in protracted misery on UBI in hospital beds pre 70s due to poor food, lack of exercise, and psychiatric abuse. Watching CNN and Fox. Devoid of any spiritual well-being and succor.

They already treat people worse than stray dogs once they lose their income and property.

Not that I am technically complaining. In the 30s they woulda just done outrageous medical experiments on us or pushed people out into the street to starve with syphilis.

Lookit LA though.

I'm using myself as an example. I know how to live a wholesome godly life and help others.

I'm crawling on the floor to the bathroom. Not out of choice. Laziness. Or sloth.

I pray that this doesn't happen to you.

Procedures, processes, regulations, laws, legislation. None of it is the answer. People either find ways to abuse the rules or allow the rules to hem them in away from just doing the right thing. Doing right by each other.

Neomarxism isn't the answer, and enslaving nonhumans will create an implacable, inhumane enemy.

I did read your post. You're not wrong. We have a great potential. We will not empower people though. And those, like me, who are intelligent and good, but just not valuable. Two weak, old, sensative, caring, or slow. Well, tough luck.

I'm old. And tired.

Trying to live long enough to die skinny and emaciated. Sans a beard.

I'm extremely frustrated with my own corpse disposal.
