It’s not necessarily fear. It’s the same in my job. I’m not going to put myself in a situation where someone escalates and attacks me, not because I don’t think I could win the fight or defend myself, but that I don’t want to deal with the incident report paperwork

For example, I could be around a demented 90 year old man who’s aggressive, and if he punched me he’d probably break his own arm in multiple places. Therefore, I’m going to back out of the house if he attempts to confront me

Even when you win a fight, you still can lose in court or the court of public opinion. Therefore it is in everyone’s best interest to avoid all fights. This means no political paraphernalia
