Default Discussion of potential Hide/Sneak bug

Hi guys,

Since the last patch my halfling druid (now level 40) seems to never be able to successfully hide and then sneak.

What I always have done...

Hide --> con undead mob
if indifferent...

Sneak --> move forward 1 step --> con undead mob
if indifferent...

WEEE SNEAKING!

else...

Re-hide until indifferent -> Re-sneak until indifferent

As of yesterday, every time I hide successfully then sneak and then move I get a "you have moved and are no longer hidden!!" message.

This makes me think that halfling racial sneak is no longer working.

Any similar experiences?

As far as I know, only Rogues can (or are supposed to) Hide/Sneak at the same time. You should be able to Sneak and con a mob, see if it is indifferent from a distance when it was something else previously.

im a rogue, and hide/sneak works 90% of the time.

however, if you hide first then receive a failed sneak, and then re-do sneak until it is a success, hide seems to fail. however, your screen tells you that you are hidden and sneaking just fine. when you zoom out, your toon is invisible.

mostly this is only a huge problem on raids, in which i have someone watch me to ensure i do turn invis.

Truth, only rogues are supposed to be able to move whilst hidden and sneaking.

Hence why the rogue's sneak message gives them the added "you are as quiet as a herd of running elephants" or "cat stalking it's prey".

On that matter of bug topic, anyone else find that a starting rogue's sneak doesn't do this unless you train a single point in it? i don't recall this being true in classic... (thread hijack sort of...)

What is the point of racial sneak then? Is it supposed to reduce aggro range?

yes. Just like the skill for Monks and Rangers (though I personally have always felt Rangers should get Hide/Sneak like Rogues since they have Hide as well [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] )
