Default Giving People Permission to Loot Your Corpse

This was in classic launch up until a certain point. Will this be included on Green? I remember doing this early back then.

I doubt it, only because they'd probably see potential abusive behavior

I remember quitting my warrior for a ranger and I did /consent to let ranger loot, this had to be sometime in 2000. Maybe they changed it and let other characters on same account loot? But I doubt it.

Sounds like a terrible idea. The only reason it was in there originally was because they’d never really done an MMO before and so they didn’t realize the abuses that mechanic could lead to. There’s zero reason to have an abuse promoting mechanic in the game when it was changed later specifically because they realized it was an awful idea to have in the game.

That really doesn't stop anything here.

However, the server administrators refusing to add something on the grounds of, "We don't like it!" definitely applies here. See: item links on Blue, lifetap nerfs, inflated buyback costs for some vendor recharge items, and various other non-classic changes made on the grounds of general server health or with their own workload in mind. I wouldn't hold my breath for this one.

But heaven forbid some of us don't want to stare at a spellbook for 30 levels. I didn't know I hated it until they patched it out. There are some things you all can't patch back in, such as my naivete.

Excited anyhow. Gonna have a super organized spell book.

Did it really last that long?

Hrmmm. My memory is really going on me.

If anything the staff probably doesn't want it because it's another avenue to selling items/plat.
