Nah not necessarily. Like in EQ, it was obviously designed by a bunch of horny virgins, so the artists spent much more time fine tuning the female designs. Except trolls and ogres who are hambeasts. I appreciate the artist's talent.

so by your assessment, male players roll female toons because they are modeled better?

frankly i haven't noticed any difference, female toons have clearly defined female features, tight figures, cleavage, tight butts, thin appendages, whereas males have broad shoulders, stout faces, defined arms, chests and abs (for those who appear shirtless without gear)

so by your own admission, you are drawn to rolling a female character, by appearance alone? They look more feminine, therefore you prefer to play female characters?

Not speaking for him, but there the main reason I’ve heard for men rolling female characters, including friends of mine’s own admission, is because they wanted a sexy ass and boobs to look at while they played the game. I don’t really want to think about it overmuch, but I imagine that for a decent chunk of them, the game isn’t the only thing they are playing with some of the time

These are typically lonely men who tend to be female-repellant IRL. Their motivation is entirely pervy, and I personally can’t relate. Not only because I can get it IRL, but even if I wanted to do some online fantasizing, I would just look at porn then

The second category would be what you are describing, men who might have some sexual ambiguity. These are probably the ones who are willing to cyber and pretend to be a girl IRL to get free shit from lonely gamers online. Again, not condemning this, but I personally can’t relate

But yea, for both sexes the characters are usually designed to be an impossible ideal. For men they usually have an amount of muscle that only anabolics could provide, and for both sexes they usually have a bodyfat % that would be incredibly uncomfortable to achieve and maintain IRL (enjoy always being starving…)

Also, there could be guys who just happen to have a female heroine they like. I remember a book series in Forgotten Realms which had a female human fighter with a tattoo on her arm that gave her some supernatural powers (forgot what though, memory is hazy), that I enjoyed reading about
