Friend got me in to it just after release, and it opened the flood-gates of everquest madness. Off and on after LDoN up until DoN.

Start Date: July 19, 1999. To be honest, I was peer-pressured into buying the game from a few of my friends - I never really wanted to. But I'm glad I did. Easily the best game I've ever played.

Started in Beta.. played through Kunark. Loved every minute.

I remember at creation I was torn between a cleric and a shadow knight. Started up a HIE cleric, and was greeted by the majesty of Felwithe gates, never looked back again. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

My first time playing everquest was the day it was released. I was a Ultima Online player so I went right to EQ.

I remember fighting 100's of other players to get the kill exp from fire beetles. To remember 100's of people chasing the same mob was an awesome memory.

I played on release of original. My brother sat me down at the computer on a wood elf ranger. Told me if i had any questions or wanted to talk to people type /ooc <message>. The rest is history. I remember those days. The good old days. I have been on and off EQ for the past 9-10 years.

My uncle and his buddies bought the game on its release. I watched him play and he let me create a character on his account. I then took over his computer on Saturdays so he bought me my own PC and account and the rest is history!

Oct. 1999

Roommate was in beta and he and Hubby (was still just a boyfriend at the time hehe) were all over it the day of release. I watched them play for a few months, then had to build myself a computer that could play it... and I was hooked from there.

Played pre-Kunark once in awhile when I went over to my friends house. At the time I did not have a computer, so we would just stay over the one friends house and take turns playing our characters which were all on the same account at the time. When kunark released the family had purchased a shitty HP computer and I started playing religiously... it all went downhill from there.
