Default someone explain how evade works

I understand how to activate it...i just was wondering how the mechanics work on it...how much aggro it drops, how often it works? etc?

It's like the opposite of taunt.

everyone creates aggro and there is a "list" taunt puts tanks +1 aggro above the next highest.

Evade puts you at -1 under the lowest member on aggro. It doesn't seem to work very often from what i remember so you basically want to hit it as often as possible. You'll know when it works because the mob will turn to someone else instantly unless casting.

Ah gotcha wasn't sure if it was a fixed amount of hate dropped like a jolt or something else.

Thanks!

It seems to work at least half the time, in my limited experience.

The number I remember is 66% success rate. Which still allows for epic chain fail sessions where you'd be better of just turning off auto and getting "why arent you attacking?" tells from group mates. Or my favorites: "Are you using evade?" and "You suck".

Should be working this way until post Velious.

--- We've also re-evaluated ways that players have to reduce their own
hate. While spells in place to allow this are OK, the Evade skill
(possessed by rogues) let them out of their damage too easily. A rogue
that successfully evaded would immediately drop to a level of hate
lower than someone who was in the awareness range, but hadn't done
anything to really upset the creature such as damage it or heal its
foe.
This problem was exacerbated by the increase of the size of the
hate list implemented with Velious.
