As one parent to (now) another....the first six months--year is the worst. At some point the baby will develop a sort of schedule and mostly stick by it. At that point you'll be able to do stuff like gaming with some degree of reliability during naptimes, night etc. By the time the kid is a couple years old life should be just about back to normal and you'll have sufficient time for hobbies. Won't be spending 12 hours a day on games if that was your thing, but within reason it won't be an issue. Don't listen to anyone who acts like having children is the end of the world, because it isn't and they're either ignorant or lying.
If you choose to keep having more it might throw a wrench into such plans but folks who go on to have many children usually do so because they enjoy it in and of itself so in that sense it's typically not a problem for them per se.
