Chainmail / Iron Vendor Set - worth buying?

I'm a level 8 rogue and I'm kind of new to this game.
I don't know where to get gear aside from vendors.

It's just that the chainmail set is kind of expensive.
Is it worth getting, or will it be a waste of money?

It's pretty much a complete waste of money. If you are able to save up 50-100 plat it may be worth it to travel to East Commons to purchase gear from players, that's the only gear that's worth spending money on, not anything from vendors really.
