Damn that’s a lotta jalapeños Some couple flagged me to stop on the way down from my hike today to incredulously ask me if I had truly gone to the top and was already coming down. After I said yea they asked does this mean the top is close? I was like “umm, no sorry, you’re about halfway and the last 1/4 is the steepest…”. Didn’t want to crush dreams so I said the view is worth it! Just some corny shit Nice that people think I’m so fast that I must have cheated tho | ||

Got a promotion at UPS, lots of potential future growth there. Got off work and laid in the sun 2 hours, tan coming in real nice. Skated 2 hours, 20ish miles. Came home, got a little drunk. Had a joint and now I'm making dinner. Life is good, you're supposed to be having a good time guys.

Oh, another cool thing that happened today. I make custom hand made walking sticks, I've currently got like 15 of them lined up outside my apartment door. I had an elderly couple come knock on my door and ask about them, I let them pick out one for each of them. I wanted to just give them to them freely but the man insisted on paying, to which I said "I understand, that's me too" The interaction was incredibly positive, I made 2 new friends in my apartment complex, and I helped people who really will benefit from my hard work. Feels really good man.

I walk in the woods near where I live, find a good candidate for a walking stick. Cut that down, trim any branches off with my saw. Then I get my knife out and "skin" the stick, remove all the bark. Let that dry for about 2 weeks, then it's on to the sandpaper. Every stick I make probably has 3-4 hours of sanding put into it. Then totally get the stick completely dry (hopefully it doesn't crack, sometimes it does). Then stain it a good color and there you go.
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Here's an example of my own personal stick, I made this thing about 4 years ago and she's still kicking. But it's become a hobby of mine. In the past year I've probably turned out about 40-50 sticks. Also, sanding on a stick(by hand) for 30ish minutes is a helluva workout. No joke.
