Default Unable to connect to server suddenly

I did a bit of research and downloaded/installed a parser called EQcompanion.
Supposed to work on p99 and be allowed. After pointing it to the only file in the 'logs' folder of my eq installation, my game froze. I closed it, went to log back in, and am unable to connect now. It says unknown error. I uninstalled the program, tried again, still nothing. I am unable to find any information about this issue online, which seems odd because i found lots of people suggestion the programs on the forums here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The "dbg" file is a debugging record of errors. The log parser wouldn't do much with that. The correct log files will have your character's name in them, like this:

eqlog_YourCharacter_project1999.txt

If no files like that exist, it means you're not logging your chat. Turn your chat log on

1. In game, type "/log on" (without quotes) at the start of each session.
2a. Out of game, open the eqclient.ini file in your EQ folder.
2b. Find the line that reads "LOG=FALSE" and change it to "LOG=TRUE"
2c. Save file.

This second option will make it so you continuously log chat on all of your characters, which will eventually create a massive text file.

Any issues you're having are probably unrelated, but I've never worked with EQCompanion before. At any rate, you don't want the parser pointing to the "dbg" file.

Well it let me log in... tried one last time before a re-install. So I guess it was unrelated. Anyway, thanks for the info about logs and stuff [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] that will be helpful if I decide to go the parser route again. I feel scarred and scared now. Mainly I just want a utility like a buff timer or something, and I wanted to see if it was included in this parser... I don't suppose you know of something like that? from what i've read, it's perfectly ok to use things like that. any nifty third party applications that actually work with p99 and we're allowed to use that you could reccomend?
