That site is incorrect, as even a Velious-era spdat lists it as having the same effect formula it currently has on p99:
Code:
11 + 11*(duration - (ticksleft-1))
which yields 22+33+44+55+66+77+88+99+110+121+132+143+154+165+17 6 = 1485 dmg over 16 ticks.

Castersrealm has it at 1600 damage as well.

I found another guide from Planes of Power's debut saying it was 1600 damage, too.

Splurt was always really weird in its ticks, I wouldn't be surprised if that Velious spell dat is incorrect or from a beta.

Doh! I just noticed that Splurt's duration in the p99 spell file is only 15 ticks, and that's why my summation consequently has only 15 numbers.

It's listed as 16 ticks in the Velious spdat from the EQ Trilogy client, with a last modified date of 7/29/2001. In that case it should be doing 1672 full dmg and ~1111 in PvP.

Probably another anomaly in their spell source data that never went live.

So both Winged Death and Splurt are missing ticks?

No, WD is actually a tick longer than it should be, yet still does less total dmg (110*10 = 1100 instead of 143*9 = 1287).

At any rate, both spells should be fixed come Velious when they switch to the era-appropriate spdat.
