what is the justification that dominion has for needing that money? Like what have they lost, were they making money from selling votes? Why is the "vote collector" a 1.6 billion dollar industry?

Does it matter? They’re writing it off in taxes anyway (somehow). It’s yet another corporate subsidy from the state

it's not. Fox Settled so murdock wouldn't be dragged through the mud for 2 weeks or however long the trial was going to be.

Quote:
Staple Street paid $38.3 million in 2018 to acquire 76.2 percent of Dominion. At the time, the private equity firm valued the technology vendor at $80 million, or one-twentieth of the $1.6 billion in damages that Dominion had sought from Fox, according to Fox’s filing.

It's VERY IMPORTANT that we as a society do not allow malicious lies to be spread about dominion voting machines or whatever.

However if you're a violent criminal with a previous offense record three miles long, it's also very important we get you out of jail so you can kill and\or assault more people. For justice!

Real question is why Murdoch didn't settle for hundreds of millions before so much embarrassing shit already came out in discovery, there must be a leaker at Fox or something going on I'm not paying attention to.

I don’t mind if it’s used to increase their cyber security

Both parties have said at various times that electronic voting systems are vulnerable to hacks. But claiming it for sure occurred is going to require a burden on proof, hence the lawsuit

Despite hackers getting increasingly sophisticated (anyone hear about how Matt Walsh got hacked? Sounds pretty fucking complicated), Dems will continue to claim our elections are more secure than they’ve ever been riiiiight up to the point when they eventually lose, no matter how far down the road that is. Then they won’t be so secure, I reckon
