Save your beetles, people. 9 bladed rhino beetles for the fourth tier of barbarian armor upgrades is more brutal than the 9 white lynels and 1500 rupees

Here I am with level 3 Barbarian Armor realizing that the depths are just as "deep" as surface level Hyrule I realize I only come back to the surface to get sticks to fuse with rocks to go back to the depths to mine more stuff.
Then a dragon scared the fuck out of me due to darkness and its size Then goblin camp_381 has more loot Then all the surface shrines share roots with underground roots Then all the everything lead up to me saving enough ore to turn into batteries Then all the poes to re-buy all the amiibo gear Then... then I remembered what the word "fun" meant. Now if you do not mind I am going to rechallenge that bigass frog and the lynel arena.

I haven't had time to delve in but my buddies come over and play on it already got me thru the tutorial and tamed a horse for me lol. the story is kinda eh for me and I don;t see how it ties in in with the rest of the trilogy yet.. but we will see. gameplay pretty smooth so far the music scores and scenery are nice.

Yeah I never played any zelda games before in my life till botw some months ago. I was amazed how easy it was to push thru the divine beasts and how easily I scaled the castle to Ganon. (I found his room on accident as I was only there for a loot run and I accidentally stumbled on the fight) so I went with it and got to his spider lion stage the first try without any prep for the fight other than hoarding as I played like normal. I hadn't even beat any divine beasts at that point as was just gearing up. So at that point I realized the divine beats must be hella easy if I almost whooped ganon already. so I killed them, then him... and I kinda didn't play much after that even though it's a great game. The world and the ambience are really what makes it. I used it as background noise alot while I played other games lol. Oh and Beedle! his overflowing enthusiasm and his...different clothing style were always .....intriguing.

Yeah it's safe to say this is probably the best console game I've ever played.
I'll tell ya about one of my more memorable adventures... I saved this town from pirates and then they needed help building it up again and asked me to get 15 logs and 20 rice. So I bring back 15 wood and 20 rice thinking that I've got this covered and realize that this mother fucker really wants LOGS! Ive gotta get to choppin down some trees! Well the trees werent nearby because apparently palm trees arent good enough for him. But i dont wanna ultra hand 15 logs over here....hrm...what to do... So I had to get creative and I built myself the most badass lumberjack monster truck and hauled that dude his 15 logs! I just wish I had a flannel tunic and trucker cap for Link to wear while I was at it. This games too good.

While I didn't play myself, I saw a friend plat it for half hour or so. Of course graphics looked good, but I just couldn't get into it.
He took like 25 pictures of plants I couldn't stand it. Miss me A Link to the Past. Still one of the best on SNES

In breath of the wild I never once used the camera feature to take pictures of anything, and I actually never really used horses either; I liked just running around on foot and climbing and exploring. There are a million ways to play the game, which is the appeal. The old model of zelda games was great but extremely linear and they've reiterated it so many times now. The idea with BotW (and now this sequel) is to make it as open-ended as possible; there's still a narrative "main quest" but you can progress through it as quickly or slowly as you want, there are so many things to do and see while you chip away at the main storyline.

Yeah the appeal of this game to me is that you can truly play it however you want. Savage warrior style? Check. Stealthy Assassin style? Check. Innovative and unorthodox? Check. Not big on combat? Take pictures, make food, harvest materials, explore, build. It manages to allow so many different play styles all simultaneously which usually doesn't work in most games and yet somehow it works perfectly here.
I love talking to friends or family playing the game and we will talk about the same quest or the same shrine or temple and yet we all had a different technique we used to complete it.

I just unga bunga spin2win most fights with a barbarian set. a lizard tail attached to a 2h weapon has a huge reach. positioned in the right spot on the back of a Frox i can hit 4 nodes. i took out a blue-white frox in like 10-15 seconds using a thick gnarled stick with a white lizard tail stuck on the end
and many many shrines i just dont even try anymore. i ultrahand a block or something up for 5 seconds and set it down, get on it, rewind and skip a puzzle. and if i have to do some super elaborate ball escort mission i tend to just pull out a hover block and just drag it along. and recently i learned how to make a hoverbike. slap a korok on it and pull up more when steering and 2 free seeds. but i cant stop playing
