Game Mechanics: Swim Skill Improve walking on Ice?

Hey Guys,

Not sure if this is classic, but I'm hanging around the frozen river in everfrost, and my swimming skill is improving just by walking on the ice. Is this supposed to happen?

No it isn't. Your swimming can increase from walking right along the edge of water as well, or from wading in half a foot of water. It's just one of those things. I think it checks if there's water underneath your feet and then rolls for skill gains if you're moving right above it. The game thinks you're swimming, even if you're walking on ice or on the bank of a river where the water clips invisibly under the ground you're walking on.
