Back in the day when first getting started on blue, fair money could be made by scooping up certain piddly diddly items in the tunnel for 50-200pp, things that weren't very valuable but also were just a little bit rare to actually show up in the tunnel. It's how I raised funds to outfit my brother and I's first duo.
I had so little platinum at the time that it was worth it to try to pay 100 for something someone was selling for 200, like a Siryn Hair Hood. It was usually easy to tell someone had no idea what it was worth or just didn't care much about that little platinum. What's the worst they could say, no? Then I'd wait a couple hours or days and sell it for 500. Repeat over dozens of items and a few hours here and there, was enough to outfit our characters half decently while we leveled. Fast forward to having a hoard of platinum, I'd just post my piddly diddly items and accept whatever someone offered for them, hoping it was someone who was doing the same thing I did. 100x better than just handing it to some fresh noob unsolicited. Bigger dopamine hit for the recipient thinking they "won".

When I'm asking for an item for a specific price and someone tries to squeeze an extra 50 or 100pp out of me, I'll just say noty on principle. I don't like to play the nickel and dime game.

anyone know why some hard to sell mid-level items vendor for like 80-90p, but others for like 4p?
How is the price a vendor offers you for a droppable piece of gear determined?
