You've looked at Perpetuum?

Not sure if its any good, but a robot MMO for ya.

Yeah, the shit produces some runtime error at like 75% on any computer with windows 7/x64. You also cannot post on the forums until you have created an ingame character.

Bunch of people have posted about it and there are no resolutions. Devs even insulted someone for posting it in a forum with more activity instead of leading him to some kind of resolution.

Shooting themselves in the foot and definitely not a business model that works. They deserve their eminent failure like oh so many mech games before them.

Game looks like shit anyways *shrug*

not exactly an MMO, and probably will get hacked to death (after I take some time to bypass xtrap kekeke) but...

http://www.microvolts.com/

game reminds me of GunZ: The Duel so much w/ its glitches.

alternatively, you could try

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udEAEARD-Fo

which looks fucking amazing, but again not an MMO

Been following that pretty closely. However, it's not even close to being released [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

exteel was a clickfest (it actually broke one of my mouses) with crappy servers. If don't have a decent ping you won't get any kills.

exteel was boss fool. I had a mediocre ping and had a very nice K/D and several thousand CTF returns

Update on perpetuum:

So seems the DL shut down but can be restarted and starts where it left off.

Initial thoughts are models and atmosphere is pretty pixely even at 1200p, but very cool designs and the customization is off the chain.

AI is pretty funny, but much like EQlive in that mobs seem to follow you long distances without resetting.

Community is very friendly. Puts p99 to shame believe it or not. People are very helpful and friendly but once you reach contested areas I have heard its every man (or team/corp) for themselves, as resources are very sought after in these areas. Game is very PvP centric (right up my alley).

Leveling is not in the traditional sense. You earn EP (some kind of attribute booster) for every minute of your mechs existence. You form your mech accordingly, choosing to favor certain attributes over others. I have been told there is a whole plethora of robots you can choose from, some favoring speed, range, close ranged, Parabola shooting (very important for LoS); but boosting one seems to sacrifice some of the other advantages.

Very interesting but very big learning curve. Will update yall a bit later when I sink my teeth in.

P.S. people who play this game are absolutely in love with it. Haven't seen this much enthusiasm since EQlive.

My pleasure

Btw, first 15 days are free and the monthly subscription fee thereafter is a mere $8.99. Seems reasonable but I am not fully convinced until I explore the mechanics further.

I've been playing Perpetuum for a few days now and am really enjoying it. It's like EVE but more fun. The tutorial missions are a great way to get introduced to the game and most of the community is pretty helpful.
