Maps and spell timers
Instead of letting the more hardcore in the know players to exploit EQ, just make it part of the game.
If you can't honestly prevent it, allow it. Stupid in current state to have some individuals with maps and buff timers.

I miss the dot tick damage myself but I'm coping without it.

if they're gonna allow item links, then we should also have buff timers, dot dmg, maps etc at least be consistent item links should not exist in-era. but they are such a great QOL feature that nobody ever complains about it

Eliminate the need for GINA or whatever people are using now and just have that stuff as part of the game, its pretty dumb at this point and serves little/no purpose

There is nothing hardcore about using a map.
At this point what kind of nub can't step out of Oggok and pick the exact bearing to arrive at feerrott druid ring minutes later

Does live EQ have text triggers? I thought just audio sound effects, not text to speech. I don't think an in-game map, song window, target markers, etc. would hurt the game, but that's not the goal of the project I guess.

Letting software play for you even if it's just parses dicktatering weapon choice isn't hardcore.
It's soft, weak, and mindless.
