Obviously there would have to be some form of democratic selection within parties, but I’m not rigid on what form that would take either, in this example

Aren’t most systems organically cyclical already? Gov’t control tends to change hands at certain intervals. The housing market and stock market seem to crash (or have a bubble bust) at intervals

You don't seem to understand that my "hatred" is for the entire system. We have two right wing parties, "centrism" in America is fundamentally conservative. I realize that there's something to be said for bipartisan agreement on the basic functions of government, but interpreting my criticism of a rotation as fixated on the GOP is to misunderstand my point.

Plus, there is the fact that it's not democratic. Wouldn't that just lock out any third party permanently? Who decides which parties get into the rotation if it's more than a pair of parties to rotate through?
