I really dont want to have to underclock a processor for full computer.... Im using a R7 7700 4.5.

There has to be a way to throttle it back just for one app.

Yea I have not had any luck with anything in game. The only thing that works is downclocking in the bios.

I have a fix for this. My CPU is an R9 7950x my default CPU modifier is 45x100 totaling in 4.5Ghz speed base clock. I was able to make P1999 100% stable by simply booting into my bios and setting my CPU multiplier to 42x100 so now my base clock speed is 4.2ghz. Iíve had zero crashes and it ALWAYS letís me login without a hitch whatsoever. At first I was upset because nobody buys this CPU so you can underclock it..you buy this CPU to do the exact opposite 😂..but with all that being said, I have not noticed any real world performance issues whatsoever in any other newer games at all.

I hope this helps you and others out and hopefully people read this thread because I have spent over 10 days on this and finally found a compromise I was willing to deal with.

Good luck!
This is what I've been doing but I have a side effect of my Windows clock constantly running fast. This only happens when the multiplier is forced to 42. The longer Windows goes without rebooting the more my time is off.

Default 7950x Issues

I too have this issue. I get an error after selecting a p1999 server and trying to log into it. Going to try downclocking now, but that is very lame. They need to update this or pops going to keep going down.

Have you a suggestion how how an update could be implemented to resolve the issue?

Unfortunately this may be a problem with the era of the client we're using.

It looks like the devs addressed the timing behavior in the client around 2015: https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/.../#post-3314217

I posted about this on the P99 sub-Reddit and a few people said the same thing. It's sounding like the only CPUs affected by this are AMD.

Default This isn't that bad

Downclocking from 4.5 to 4.2 will be a 1 or 2% decrease in maximum perf. For regular everyday work there us no measurable impact.
