![]() Does the Ac from a shield get effected by the worn ac cap that rangers have?

![]() I'm glad this was asked. I assume all shield AC raise the cap but would really like to hear from a parser to confirm

![]() I have seen posts about ac from shields not counting towards the cap for other classes but ranger seems to have a bugged worn ac cap thats way too low

![]() Shield (if it's a real shield and not an orb, etc) AC goes over soft cap for every class

![]() It’s not going to make a material difference on anything a ranger would tank. An Aary or Yeli shield and Rainbow/Water Dragon shield would cover your bases but it’s more stuff to pack.

Tanking blues in grind groups no issues at all. Raid scene tanking will be either 20 seconds unslowed or keeping up with CH’s while slowed, or a mix of those two. Rangers have half a dozen weapons that proc runes and slows. Or they might even run tash sticks. I would rather run a 500p Swarmcaller and hope for a lucky dice roll over a shield in most situations. A preslow is going to save you more hps over time than 30ac. The times I’ve MA’d on my ranger I used an earthcaller and silver whip of rage. TBH though, anything would have been just fine (ie: it’s not a make/break call). | |||
