Yeah, none of that is how raiding or resists work. At all. Ever.

You'd know that if you had a higher than 0% raid attendance.

I'm not saying you save your DKP for BiS when you're first starting out, but you never pass on BiS.

Sure, there is a strategy to buying smaller upgrades for low DKP prices, but at some point, you have to bridge that gap to start buying BiS.

And you never know when you're going to see BiS again.

You also don't downrank 100 hp BiS items over 3 MR. MR is cumulative over all of your gear. The difference of 97 vs 100 or 252 vs 255 or whatever is not worth it to give up 100 hp.

On a fight like Klandicar, a single 100 HP item won't matter if you spend the entire fight feared. Ring slots are often swapped for resist gear.

A person who is just starting out may be using Velium Jacinth Wedding Ring to boost MR while they wait for better gear. That is +9 MR over Ring of Restruction. That was my point. I wouldn't get a Ring of Destruction as my first BiS item if I am sorely lacking resist gear.
