The excuse of not turning on nameplates 'because the server is classic' is bullshit and everyone one of you claiming that knows it.

Just because we have the same zones doesn't make this server anything like classic.

Just to name a few things:
- The number of AoNs is not classic.
- The hit chance of melee is not classic.
- Spell resists are not classic.
- Spell mechanics are not classic
- The population is not classic.
- The knowledge of the game is not classic.
- The cast time on gate / potions is not classic.
- The sheer wealth and gear level of people is not classic.

It is simply impossible to emulate an entirely classic experience for such an old game that psychopaths like you people spend so much time playing. Especially on a server that has been stuck in Kunark for so many years now.

Given this, the staff has rightfully made non-classic adjustments to the server to make the experience playing here better in the hopes of at least emulating the fun aspects of classic EQ.

I see no reason why AoN would be any different. edit: especially just to add nameplates - something that EQ eventually did.

Didnt know you can charm mage pets! Muwahaha thanks pal.

Also, I spent most of my time in skelly form. No name plate is something we all have do deal with and adapt to.

I don't have an AON but from the sounds of this thread and the thread regarding an alleged RMT-AON situation i'd say just make them no drop.... two birds, one stone... of course noone WITH an AON will want that...

Adding nameplates makes sense. Alas, too many idiots hate him for the vote to pass just because it's him.
