Actually he did give people checks as part of the Trump tax cuts. Only problem is 95% of America got like $200 checks and the other 5% got $200,000

Also the rich 5% got more because they contribute far more in total tax revenue than the other 95%. People see this as the rich stealing from the poor in some naive robin-hood like way. It just isn't though.
