Based on the mutations carried by each virus, scientists have estimated that RaTG13 and SARS-CoV-2 share a common ancestor that infected bats about 40 years ago.
Haha, yes "scientists have estimated that I am right!". Lots of scientists, including virologists and evolutionary biologists have also stated that the high transmissibility of the virus immediately upon passage to humans is unlikely to have evolved in nature- viruses that pass to humans from animals are not IMMEDIATELY mega-contagious like that almost ever- and that the most likely explanation would be a naturally occuring virus that was taken from nature, most likely a bat, and had parts of it's genome artificially enhanced in a lab for scientific study. AKA gain of function. Nobody is saying china did anything nefarious on purpose, other than potentially cover up the fact that they fucked up and leaked it by accident in the first place. But I know you really love throwing around the term conspiracy theory without addressing any of this, so..

That's exactly it. I don't know if China unleashed this virus on purpose or someone or a group of people were incredibly stupid and let it get out of the lab, but it is NOT a naturally-derived virus from someone eating a bat.

Only a moron would believe this was from a bat.

Well to be fair they *did* study live bats and bat coronaviruses at the wuhan lab, so that's just the thing: People on both sides can derive a conclusion here, because bats *were* most likely involved, but only to the extent that the lab was studying them. The lab still most likely genetically modified a natural bat virus and probably leaked it by accident through some type of contamination\lax protocols, so they'd have every incentive to deny it because it makes them look terrible. There's nothing conspiratorial about any of that, and in fact a fair bit of scientific testimony from relevant experts that backs it as a plausible hypothesis, but people just love to call anything they don't like conspiratorial now.

But they've been trying to pass this off as someone eating a bat from a barbaric wet market, which caused the person to fall ill and then suddenly two months later the whole world is infected.

Europe has been worried about backlash against Russia because they're dependent on Russian gas. Well imagine calls for punishing China for the virus leaking out of a biolab when we're all dependent on cheap Chinese products and labor. Would cripple the worlds' economies. The Trump trade war was bad enough, we can't have China being responsible for unleashing a deadly virus on the world. So nope instead let's blame it on someone eating a bat. It's just credible enough that people might fall for it.

Good thing we haven't had very infections virus passed from animals ever.

Then because Measles which is even more infectionious than Covid19.... it also must have been generated in a lab right and didn't jump from a zoonotic animal; like cattle.

The black death also must haven't been very infectious coming from rats to fleas to humans.

Nor the Asiatic flu a Coronavirus that killed more than a million in Russia during the 1889.

Stop listening to your stupid alt right news hosts they are feeding you misinformation.

You really don't know do you? Did the measles and the plague conveniently come from the same area as a virus lab "studying" those two diseases? And did they somehow spread across the entire planet in a mere eight weeks or so?

Covid-19 is not from a purely naturally-occurring virus. It started off that way sure, before it got out of the lab somehow.
