How does the Nihilum "guild bank" funds run low when they have a monopoly on raid mobs?

How is this possible when Tune, by himself, has probably close to 1 million plat spread across 100 bank alts that he uses to buy every item of value non nihilum people auction?

He was even offering me Trakanon BP's for an amulet of necropotence...
