The United States is the only first world, western style country with anywhere close to 330 million people. The next closest contender is Japan at 126 million people. Any comparisons between homicide rates is meaningless, because there is no evidence to suggest homicide rates scale linearly based on population in first world, western style countries.

Comparing the United States to something like China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, etc. is equally meaningless, as they have a much different style of governing, and they are generally more poverty stricken than the United States.
