I am encouraged by the progress being made with the lighting. Please continue, and thank you for what you've accomplished so far!

Do I need to use wineq2 to get the new lighting?
I'm just not seeing any difference in Qeynos as a human with the same 35% gamma I was using before. I am using 50d.

Things are headed in the right direction, but I can still see way past my light source and even far enough without one Good test is if you go into the Nektulos to EC zoneline, you shouldnt even be able to see the damn walls in that corridor without vision spell/solid light source Don't hold back, son

1. Creative freedom to create and outfit your character with varied and interesting items that can drastically change their power and abilities. 2. A challenging game world that rewards strategic planning and punishes recklessness. 3. Forced social interaction through grouping, trading, traveling etc that fosters a strong sense of community. 4. A persistent game world with meaningful travel. 5. A strong time invested vs reward ratio, rewarding players who invest heavily in the game world. 6. A large varied array of spells, abilities, items, etc that can be creatively combined in interesting and dynamic ways to create memorable encounters outside the static theme park encounters found in most games. Notice that nowhere in the list is bad outdated UI design part of my core experience. I am now playing classic WoW (in addition to p99) and it's refreshing to not be hemmed in by my UI constantly fighting me at every step, being able to see what I'm doing, and class balance that's more sensible (for example, Druids and Wizards not being completely useless) but it also is lacking in some areas classic EQ still excels at. With all that being said though, I don't make demands of or hold anything against the p99 team who are excellent at what they do. It is their project and they can do with it as they wish [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Hey guys, I just wanted to chime in real quick since I see a lot of speculation about what is and isn't possible with the Titanium client.
I have a background in DirectX programming and I approached the devs a few weeks ago with a fix I cooked up for (some of) the Titanium client's lighting issues. The P1999 team now has the ability to directly modify the compiled shaders being used by the titanium client, as well as a few other interesting aspects of the rendering pipeline (such as racial vision bonuses) [You must be logged in to view images. This is all under VERY active development, but I believe the devs are planning to release a complete lighting overhaul in the near future. What you're seeing on Blue right now is just a couple of accidental premature changes. Hang tight!
