It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.

There were bulletin boards with crafting and class-specific info pre-Kunark.

EQ Traders was a resource during kunark.

The original Paladins of Norrath board was quite active while the Fiery Avenger quest (the proto epic quest) was being worked out early in Kunark.

The old-style newsgroup alt.games.everquest had quite a few bits of information (and a fair few bits of mis-information too) from early on, but you had to read thru a lot of chaff to find the good stuff.

There were a lot of websites with good info and really great message boards back then. Allak, Safehouse, Druids Grove, etc. I remember following massive threads trying to crowdsource the original epic quests. You certainly had to dig for info as it wasn't all neat, tidy and quickly available like the wiki, but it was out there. True nerds had a trusty three ring binder with printed out spell lists and quest notes at the ready.

Alla has been up since late 1999 so wiki type sources are nothing new.

This is very accurate. Back in my golden 80s - just like it was yesterday.😊

Furor's 'blog' or whatever you wanna call it with those crap forums attached had an unreal amount of information for the average person, just not everyone read it at first.

Magetower, Necrotalk, Monkly business, the list is pretty endless. If you needed to know something about your class you could find it. I specifically remember raster being completely layed out very early in Kunark.
