Letter from 1/14/2001

Velious was released 12/5/2000. So 40 days after Velious release Sony says they are removing the penalties.

1/17/2001 the patch note, pointing to this letter. So 43 days after Velious release, Sony effectively removes the penalty (the mechanics are a bit more complicated then just removing).

Rangers are killer in Velious. Get some decent buffs, finally get upgraded defense at the end, and insane DPS with the BFG.

Isn't terribly overpowering above 50, but I always loved the blue glowing fist Zlans heart for int casters with worn effect regen.

Blade of Carnage/Sceptre of Destruction/Velium Encrusted Gauntlets were some of my favorite items owned on live too.

on live during Velious the heart looked like an 'icy Velious' scimitar graphic, not that cool blue GBS you remember

very dumb that a heart looks like a Scimmy but it did
