I think eels are spooky to us because they look like snakes, which are spooky.

Urban myth states groups of eels will mob large mammals, even ones weighing as much sheep, dragging them in to the water eating them from the inside, starting at the anal sphincter.

You would just feel a warm rush of blood and go into shock quickly as you suffocated. Suffocation is relatively quick and after the initial anxiety u can get a wave of euphoria.
