Those who prefer newer models just have inferior taste. Some people prefer McDonalds to sushi, to each their own.

The worst thing about the new models is the animations, which you can't really show off in screenshots. Everyone seems hunched over and they move choppily and awkwardly, as if they had something large lodged up their behind. This alone is the dealbreaker for me, watching everyone's character wobble around all hunched-over makes me feel like I'm playing a fantasy game complerely inhabited by geriatrics.

Everything that made the races unique and "EverQuesty" was lost in the new models, too. Ogres went from charmingly goofy and massive to generic tall muscular humans. Trolls became generic tall muscular humans with darker skin. Each race had a very unique look for each set of armor, and once again it all looks like generic whatever with the new models. Not to mention the models just aren't aesthetically pleasing, the eyes especially are fucking weird and creepy.

Bingo! It wasn't just that the models looked awkward, the animations we're 1000x worse.

I do admit the animations were not the best in the new models,...but you guys have to admit, the old graphics look like blocks with basically no detail options for the user. the animations of the old blocks were good.....but they were blocks. The armor is one of the main things that is shitty about the old graphics. You can hardly tell what people are wearing. Also, the user doesn't have an option to Show/Hide helm with old graphics. So they have to deal with wearing a block(helmet) on their block(head).

First of all, if I gave a flying fuck about graphics I wouldn't be playing EverQuest. Secondly, this is a classic server trying to recreate the feel of the old game where the new models did not exist.

Blocks? What is this, Minecraft? Get the fuck out.

Are we playing the same EverQuest? First of all, show/hide helm works with old models the same it works for the new ones. Second of all, there's nothing "blocky" about the old models. Sure they have less polygons and lower resolution textures, but if anything they're more lively than the newer models considering their fluid movement and animations.

I completely don't understand the "can't tell what people are wearing" thing. The older models are OBJECTIVELY by far way more unique and recognizable than the generic newer models. Let's take a look at some screenshots. Which of these looks better to you?

If you answered the right image, I'm sorry, you're wrong. Apparently Erudites upgraded their textile manufacturing from cloths and silk to some strange plasticy polyester shit imported straight from Azeroth. Also, why did they make Erudites look like Mr. T? My God.

Most races had very unique armor stylings that reflected the race itself. Keeping with the Erudite example (completely random, this goes for every race because the new models ruined everything):

Look at how cool this design is. Erudite, a primarily magic-using race, has some sort of metallic style robe graphic with plate equipped. Those "bolted" metal plates on the breastplate are pretty damn cool as well. Someone had a great idea when they designed these textures, so wouldn't the new models just do it again with higher resolution textures?

Oh, no. Just generic platemail again. Like every other race with the old models. Boring and unimaginative. This might work well for Half Elf armor design, considering their original classic platemail had fancy engravings and such. Except they took that one race's armor style and applied it to fucking everyone. Style and creativity > higher resolution textures and higher polygon count.

TLDR: If you voted new models you're an idiot. I think I'd even take the alpha graphics over Luclin, I mean look at those fucking pants and boots. I want those for my dwarf asap.

Yeah. Definitely cooler than Luclin models.

"Why did they make erudites, a race with dark colored skin, have similar facial features of someone in real life with dark colored skin instead of making all the races have white people facial structure."

a lot racism in the modern age is subtle, often overlooked and not even seen as racism by even the person expressing it.
