Spells: Flaming Sword of Xuzl pet

I'm not sure if a stealth database change went through, but since I posted the previous images I have noticed twice my pet (unbuffed) surviving a hit. I only have one screencap of this.

This is an amount of damage which has killed a previous pet .. whats going on?

At a guess, maybe the sword pet has level variance, or at least variance of pet types which have different HP values?
