If anything, the opposite is true. Overcoming opposition that started with a clear advantage gives your achievements more merit that those who did the same with no opposition.

This is pretty much it. I might actually go as far as to say its 99% true in most cases... I've been in a "world first" style guild during SWTOR and found out that they got the mechanics given to them to try out on raid bosses. Makes their world first mean jack shit IMO.

Collectively I'd estimate TMO spent around $30,000 dollars on IB gear and chars when we left. And that would not be including the guild bank.

The only person i know of in TMO that RMTed for sure was Daliant. Everyone else bought your gear/accounts for a pittance in platinum which was then probably RMTed.
