I wonder how much of the food stamp soda thing is political. coca cola loves to fund the lefty candidates and 40% of their revenue is from sugary drinks, like $6 billion

time to dump the KO stock, shareholders don't care who the president is

I like this take on 1984 - We've always been at war with obesity.

It’s a ban on just candy and soda. What will that accomplish though? It takes literally like 10 seconds to walk over from the junk food isle to the baked goods isle and grab a few boxes of cookies (which aren’t banned) and then another 10 seconds to walk over to the sports drink isle and get a Powerade instead of a soda (still loaded with sugar)

Person buying them (with food stamps) still ends up just as fat and diabetic. So what did the ban accomplish? It wasn’t even an inconvenience to switch

Now if they banned all candy, ice cream, chips, baked goods, sports drinks, soda, AND juice, all at once. Well now the average fat person on food stamps might go “uh oh, what can I snack on now?” and it might actually become a problem for their bad habit

But just a ban on soda and candy alone seems like a literal waste of time to me. It’s like banning one flavor of ice cream, or just banning Kit Kat bars. It was a waste of of the paper to print it, and a waste of time to read it. It will accomplish nothing
I don't always live the healthiest lifestyle - it is not even 10:30 am and I've already drank two coffees and a cup of black tea, and have taken an early elevensies in the form of a very processed sliced of chocolate cake. I'll frequently skip exercising if I am ill, tired, or the weather/time is inconvenient. Despite that, honestly I'm impressed by the dedication, money and perseverence people are able to put into being fat, I honestly couldn't do it.

It is interesting, from following fitness for like 12ish years now, when it comes to the sport of powerlifting there is one universal complaint. It’s the thing everyone hates and some literally cannot take and it makes them end up quitting

It’s never the training. It’s not them saying “oh my God that workout was too brutal” or “I’m so worried I’ll injure myself”

It’s always the eating. It’s forcing oneself to gorge on huge quantities of food when not hungry. It’s like there is something in our biology that screams internally to stop when we are deliberately gluttonous for long periods of time. It has caused actual mental health issues for competitive powerlifters

I think for the morbidly obese fat people, it’s just that their addiction and dopamine cravings scream even louder

When I’m telling myself before my run that I only got 3 hours of sleep, have been having sudden liquid shits all day, and legs are still kinda sore from yesterday’s run

But when you can’t lie to yourself, it goes like:

Judge NopeNopeNopeNope: Based on these circumstances, I will propose a postpone until tomorrow, unless you feel you can proceed?
