For those who didn't play live, mobs repopped all the time because it was 1999 and servers were unstable and there were a lot of patches. If you look back through the archives of old raid guilds such as LoS you can see that sometimes they'd kill the same raid mobs every day for a week. Especially during Velious when the servers were going down so often.

That's why it's a "simulated" repop. What do you think they're simulating? Live EQ, in 1999-2001.
