Are enchanters bad in PVP?

chanters are playmakers.

They require a bit of finesse to play and a poorly played chanter sticks out like a sore thumb.

I've always considered strut to be lethal in pvp as a chanter.

Good to know, thanks for all of the feedback. It does help provide insight. It's going to be a while for me to get up there (I'm only level 14 atm), but I'll get there! I think the most difficult part is just getting spells. Theyre freakking expensive when you cant just twink yourself haha!

Does anyone know the facts about CHA from testing? I may roll a chanter but i'm considering putting my points into INT so I have a decent mana pool. I know it can be capped from end game gear but that's a loooooong ways away and I remember it not making much difference once you get over 130 or whatever. Should I even stack CHA with my gear? Seems like INT is the way to go in general, or can someone confirm 100% that stacking CHA is best and noticeable?

And do their spells usually get resisted in end game PVP regardless of tash etc?

Charisma is easy to get, so is int. I went 10cha 10int 5sta just because didn't really matter for me. Currently my ench is basic gear with epic that's about the best item he has next to classic and low end kunark cha gear. He tops over 255 still even though I removed both opalline earrings, crude stein(went ORS) and he still has like 8cha over cap with splendor buff. Neriad shawl is like 25cha alone which is big. I find myself with plenty of mana at 60 acc medding up with c2/gob isn't bad at all. If there are targets to theft I can keep up with at least 75% mana or higher between keeping bedlam up stuff rooted tashed whatever. Mez tash root stuff takes almost no mana. Can regen it back in 3 ticks. As far as resists go at end game PvP, tash helps and on some ppl it'll allow you to land spells especially on certain class that start with low MR etc that require some velious gear/flowers to make them highly resistable. Rapture will land regardless but can be thwarted by a crimson pot or any dot/dmg. You probably won't be nuking anyone to death because your spell line is all MR base. So unless you catch a naked, or a non velious geared monk or other low MR class pre good gear you won't land anything. Worth a shot sometimes though, I've tash rooted monks and even some bad bards before.

If you play a chanter and want to get them raid geared just be ready for probably the worst class to play on raids. Basically you are a buff bitch, raids like fear or hate are fun because you actually get to do some crowd control but on almost all other raids you just hang out and buff people.

Chanters are awesome grouping or DUO in PVE, you can farm items or exp really fast. There is not much an enchanter and a cleric can not do as long as the enchanter has high enough charisma to make charm stick decent.

I loved playing my enchanter in PVP, worst case scenario if you can't get a kill you can strip peoples buffs, steal their mana and cripple them. Seemed a lot of people on this server were just as scared about losing their buffs as they were dying. I was often able to chase people off just by chain dispelling them.

Anyway, I have played most classes and I think my favorite class over all for pvp and pve has been an enchanter.

There was this enchanter named curious george on the server not sure who he was. Pretty amazing player showed me how powerful enchanters can be.

I'm pretty sure I'd suck, but I was talking to Ksah one night and that PvP role is just too sadistic for me to not wanna play. I never cared about YTs. But watching an NPC guard I tricked someone into agroing or my guildies steamroll someone always made smile. Really wish I went enc instead of rogue here.
