Always went with the Rain Caller, more than anything so I could fire an arrow across the zone

Make sure you have good Dex gear. That is what makes arrows crit.

How important is DEX as far as starting stats. I would like to experiment with a Ranger sometime to see if I can solo all the way to 30s without getting twinked via bow kiting and skill.

In my view I would dump everything to STR at level one and raise my DEX through gear. I don't think DEX would be critical level 1-15. Maybe I'm wrong.

I solo'd my Ranger to 30 exactly like this.
Dex is his lowest stat (<100)
Dex = Bow Crits
I don't find STR effecting DMG much.
Just my 2cp.

Would WIS and DEX be equally important for bow-dependent rangers, or just DEX?

I don't like empty character slots that much.

I would say that Wisdom would only effect your mana pool and fletching capabilities.

I don't typically go OOM while bow kiting, the range I receive from Raincaller/Fletched Arrows is so high that I'm typically out of casting range! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

i dont think you need wisdom since it doesnt scale pretty well in a ranger. i suggest you to go hp/mana in items like neck, earrings, rings for example

How much dmg do you make with rain caller and crafted arrows per shot thought?
