This will probably be received as a stupid question as well, but I just started P1999 the day before the crash, so is there any way to travel between Antonica and Faydwer without the boats? By extension, is it possible to go to Ocean of Tears?

there are translocators that appear on the far right pier in butcherblock and one that appears by the fishing lady in freeport every 10~15 minutes, as well as one in OOT pier
just target them and say "travel to -----" either ocean of tears, butcherblock mountains, or freeport depending on where you are at.

Thanks a lot, Virtuosos. This was probably the best P1999 could do under the circumstances.
And, of course, sexy chest.

Boats are a good element of classic
Many of us have early days of EQ epic journeys from one continent to the other, before our friends could bind, or cast SOW, was epic. But I don't care either way, its mostly a small part of the big picture, and if it means the server crashes and is too unstable to work, or simply impossible, then I dont care about boats.

I just hope they find a way to put in the amazing boat to kunark.

something i have noticed on the easy server though was the use of the boats...
food for thought (if there is an admin who is reading this): If you can make the boats still appear and move through the water even if not being a solid object, then an idea for making it slightly more classical-feel would be making the boats come at the same time as they would in live, and when you run to hop into the boat, it causes you to teleport to the next destination (just like using a translocator but without hailing it and whatnot, same as it is in classic) then while in OOT, you have just a slightly less waiting time (maybe half as long) for the next boat to come... this is where it gets tricky though, not sure how to pick which destination to go to.. anyways, just an idea to add the boats back in the beauty aspect of it.

Some things will never be 100% classic. It's impossible to ensure 100% compliance.
1) Some people like it this way because they don't want 100% classic eq. reformists. 2) Some people are too busy playing the game to even care what this is all about. 3) Some people wish it was 100% classic. fundamentalists. 4) Others are big hairy trolls that live under bridges. 5) Some people are Rogean or Nilbog. But for the rest of us (9 out of 10 people), we're sorry for the poor sob's that're one of the above.
