This is just "since we can't do everything, let's do nothing". Afghanistan being good instead of bad, is good. It only took about 3000 US troops to keep it relatively stable. You're tiptoeing around moral relativism. Some cultures are better than others, some ideas are better than others. The united states was really onto something with the whole "all men are created equal" and liberty and all that jazz. Then some dork stands up and goes "yeah but slavery" as if that makes the idea invalid. No, it's still the best idea there is. You just need to uphold it.

Problem is, it affects your hand eye coordination which is important for firearm use.

I don't think that's quite accurate. Yes you can develop a tolerance to alcohol, but it never gets to the point where you can chug a 2 liter bottle of vodka and not get drunk (and probably die). When I lived in california and had unlimited access to potent weed and concentrates, I literally could go through like 300 dollars worth of shatter and dabs in one sitting, and barely feel high. Weed has both tolerance and a ceiling. Alcohol has tolerance, but not a ceiling.

They are just different substances, with different effects on the human body.

Also not sure why this debate is in the afghanistan thread but whatever.
