yeah yeah yeah i know mayors arent the entire government, most of these cities have had recent civil demonstrations - not riots.

Be my guest-- wash the West coast off and the rest of the US becomes a backwater country with demographic and human development stats on the order of Poland or Belarus, and we wouldn't have the rural square states using their disproportionate representation in our government to siphon money from prosperous liberal areas.

And yes I've been to Portland many times, it's a real nice place-- weather is a little dreary. The thing about the Pacific Northwest is they have a lot of protestor hobbyists, anarchists, etc. You're not supposed to take it seriously, they are always protesting something and always have been. Real Hasbinbad types. What shocks me is that you and the NRA gun crew aren't getting your panties bunched up about federal paramilitaries marching around black-bagging American citizens. But then, as long as it's liberals right? You'd eat shit if a liberal had to smell your breath. It's really a race to the bottom in this country.

I'm curious-- when has America ever kicked ass or taken names? We get in wars, most of which we never should have been involved in, perform rather poorly, and then hallow and mythologize the experience.

They aren't black bagging anybody jesus calm down. They questioned like two people and released them without charge an hour later. Meanwhile there are violent riots happening on a nightly basis in multiple cities, innocent people are getting killed and beaten. The local police aren't doing anything. What the hell do you expect to happen? What would a responsible president do? Nothing I guess? Go live literally anywhere else in the world. People are so fat and happy here they need to pretend there is some NAZI CRACKDOWN to feel like they have a political identity while giving exactly zero shits about any of the innocent people, businesses and neighborhoods being destroyed by these idiotic "mostly peaceful protests". Wheeler doesn't seem like a halfwit, moreso like his hands are tied. I saw him the one day addressing a crowd of people trying to find a common ground, but they shouted him off stage and advanced toward it, requiring his security to intervene.

I get the impression that if we told these people they can have whatever they want, it would still not appease them.
