While it may not be quantifiable, summoning items (allegedly) for people def has an impact on the playerbase when it becomes public. Take one look at the WoW private server Elysium that went from packed to flatline after news broke of the same type of ordeal.
Is anyone surprised on WoW emulators though? The "Chinese gold" farmers aren't as Chinese for one.

Sirken was cool. A bit cringey at times, but let's be honest who among us isn't. A+ would have as a classic elf simulator GM again. Going to miss ASOIAF thread updates and the ol' Sirkstream.

I'm against 'Chinese gold farmers' but I'm not against gold sellers. I'll explain why:

On Live WoW, accounts were being actively compromised through various methods (usually phishing sites) and that was the primary source of gold that was being sold. A large number of the perpetrators were Chinese, but not all were. However, the moniker of 'Chinese gold farmers' has stuck through the years to describe unsavory currency transactions.

I'm against people being harmed or having their accounts robbed. I have no problem with someone selling gold if they earn it by playing the AH, or farming it themselves, etc. That's just my opinion and I don't consider it more valid than anyone elses, but I said I'd explain so there you have it.

I came to the conclusion that occasional worthless fake pixel hand outs are less severe than occasional free cappaccino hand outs from a barista (in each instance to the object of affections).

It also caused crazy amounts of inflation.

Good luck to the beginner newb who didn't have a rich main or the ability to buy gold.

See what unchecked immigration can do to an economy?
