Chardok is a good option to and not very popular,at least the xp camp.
Duo with a druid, they charm a dog you charm and skele and you just clear the castle ent,up and down the ramps. Very easy and safe, good xp and can be good loot.

For sure,super strong duo for chardok.
You can keep the entrance ramp clear and just gate out when your pets get low,keep sow up full time.
Ridiculously safe.

I find myself hesitant to xp in chardok because I think it would be fun to have my necro factioned there eventually. Maybe I should just do it and later farm the extra faction; I'm not even sure how much extra it would be.

I've been pretty on and off with my necro levelling but IIRC this is my spell line up charming in HS basement:

1. swap (often splurt or deflux, if I have to lull I top slot it too for the better gcd spam)
2. swap (often lich or hungry earth)
3. Thrall of Bones (I think the faster cast is worth the extra mana)
4. Bond of Death
5. Paralyzing Earth
6. Screaming Terror
7. Feign Death
8. Harmshield

In contrast to zelld52 when soloing I like to leave the pet unbuffed, PE the mob it's killing, then break charm and kill them both when they're low. His tactic to Rest the Dead on his charmed pet then flop to reset it is a good one to have in your pocket; it can make duos much smoother.

In contrast to seemingly every other necro I often like to sit on my pet so it doesn't move on a charm break. When it breaks I PE it, then step back and recharm. When sitting close doesn't make sense I Screaming Terror on a charm break for the short duration.

When you have to do dot damage, consider splurt first. When the duration doesn't cost you an extra root and when it's not significantly overkill it's way better than your other spell damage.

It won't hurt to kill your necros faction,since when you farm chardok on a necro you constantly lose faction anyway. Get used to the grind.
Just torture yourself and kill goblins in range of angry when it's in window.

That works,but can be a crapshoot to get a convenient dog or skele to spawn.

i take it feign death while dot finishes mob doesnt work? would have to /q out every fight with dots loaded to avoid faction i suppose
