I think Legday still thinks of the raid scene as 'fun and competitive' because he's still relatively new to it. When he looks back in three years, he'll realize that he should have learned to play guitar, read more books, or taken up pottery as a better use of his spare time.

Newp.

The excitement of snap pulling a dragon in to camp while setting up a chain, tank order, monks tagging with low numbers was fun. The whole coordinated effort to pull off kills as people were still logging in where these was even a shred of a chance of a wipe because there was actually a premium on playing well.

Now we get FTE, wait around for the right class comp to log on and pull the thing in for an easy kill. It's boring af. It's so boring that any time anything actually does go wrong, the same players who used to be quick to react and make adjustments on the fly are now out of practice and more commonly make mistakes.

Every time it happens its a reminder of how things used to be fun and now, not so much.

So if you want to understand something you do not currently understand you have to acknowledge that you are missing something and want to know the truth.

The truth is that I want a world where what you can "fun" and what I call "fun" is equally appreciated and there is a place for. I can completely understand how snap pulling dragons with low numbers can be perceived as fun. It's not to me, but I get that.

I proposed that we split the content and allow for you to go outside on the weeks you do not snap pull dragons and I get to go outside on weeks we do not get to passively kill with casuals. Both of us get our "fun" and neither of us burns out.

The reason this was not accepted by those who mattered (although it was accepted by every guild other than A/A) is because it means less mobs for you.

Sirken said things were changing to include casuals. Your team bucked hard and didn't want an even concession and now no one is happy.

/shrug. I'm sure this will be another bump in an otherwise meaningless thread, hurtling through the depths of RnF space where no one can hear you scream.
