Default Velious Instruments

I recently started playing again after a 7 month hiatus. I have been looking around for equipment upgrades (particularly drums/strings).

I currently use a gypsy lute and nostrolo' tambourine.

I'd like to start raiding soon but in the interim i'm looking for some upgrades.

Anyone know how much the walrus drum is selling for? I don't see any strings in my price range. I am dirt poor.

Thanks!
Prester 54 bard

I got the walrus drum off a vendor for < 25 plat. Someone in guild chat was excited about getting his Nostrolo a couple days ago. I didn't have the heart to tell him about the walrus skin drum

You are set until raiding. You want the maestro lute or vp lute is bis if you have access to that, even in Velious. Then a selo's drum or drums of the beast from Velious. Wind and brass don't matter.

Brass matters.

For swarming it helps. So this is good for more casual bards.

At high end Velious at the end (when epic can mod in offhand) a bard will be using the Sky Horn in primary and Epic in offhand in tank groups to maximize the DS off McVaxius song. Sadly that small DS bump on a MT and RT will outDPS a bard's Melee.
